Hey. So the polls for October drew less votes than I was hoping, but the results were still somewhat clear. In the game poll, the majority of people seem to want me to stick with my current game idea. The other poll asked if I should stop giving out free stuff; obviously most people said no but a surprising number of people voted to just wait longer, which is actually a possibility. (This poll was mostly posted just to see if anyone actually read the polls or cared what they said, as votes in the polls have been dropping for whatever reason.) Two new polls are up now as well; one asks what kind of player character you prefer to play as in VNs, and the other asks if you prefer sci-fi, fantasy, or modern settings for adult stories/image sets/games. If you are interested in my current/future plans, I explain it after the break here.

Quick side note first: there is less than one week left in the contest, so get your entries in/fixed if you haven’t already!

Anyway, here’s the problem with the game situation; I want to do the game I originally planned, but as previously stated, it will take a ton of effort and time that I don’t have to spare at the moment, taking into account everything else that I currently do. I think the best thing to do here is for me to make one or two small VN(s) and then try to work on the original game idea again. However, even more problematic than the huge amount of work involved with the original idea is the part where I can no longer do about 1/4 of the scenes that I originally planned to include due to Octane’s memory limits, my crap video card, and my lack of a dedicated render machine. I am hoping to get some new hardware from the various cyber monday deals later this month, but that just depends on if there are any deals on what I need… and if I can afford it.

As far as the free releases of new sets goes, I honestly am still unsure of what to do here. What I am currently doing is not working, so I need to change something. (Most artists that make image sets don’t even give most of them out for free at all.) I am considering numerous options on this, but the main idea I have is that I plan to make free releases six months after they are released now, instead of three; at the bare minimum. I desperately want to avoid direct sales of image sets if at all possible, because that just complicates things and gives other people/sites a sizable cut of whatever I might make. I will think about this some more; but other than trying to open for commissions, (which I do plan to do sometime soon) I am just unsure of what else to do.

So for the six of you that read this far down, I am currently planning to try and make a micro/small test VN as well as a test animation in Octane before the end of the year. I am afraid of doing the animation though, as I don’t have a separate render machine and I think I have to assemble the actual movie manually, frame by frame (which people who have done this know is a nightmare for anything over a few seconds) but I’m not totally sure about that since I have not tried Octane’s animation making abilities yet. These things will likely be for Patrons only other than a small preview gif of the animation if I can get it to work at all. As for my plans this month, I still am not sure if I am up to doing a set a month again yet; I seem to have agitated my back a fair bit working so much on RTL 7 this past week. So I will see if it gets better and post an update in a week or so. I so want to try and make some new stuff for DA and fix a few other things that I need to address in the meantime.
